Moksha is a New York (Long Island) native with a multicultural background and a deep love of the arts—more specifically, dance, photography, and the written word. As a History and Dance major at Barnard College, she appreciates the nuances of life and human interaction and cares to apply this to her work.
Within dance, Moksha trained at Alvin Ailey for 11 years, studying a slew of styles but focusing on Horton. At Barnard, she finds Postmodern fascinating and aims to focus on this within her own choreography.
Moksha has written for a number of publications and cares to write more creatively now. It could be a form of therapy. She enjoys the personal element of journalism.
As a photographer, Moksha favors movement photography, and seeks to work with dancers. It is a continuation of creating a personal element within her work. You will often find her taking photos of many other things—moon, birds, etc.
Currently she is creating a choreography and video-based piece surrounding birds.
